Day 8

So day eight confirming more than ever complete integration of all the nationalities here, it is just a shame that we are nearing the end. Day eight has been one of relative calm in contrast to previous days, the fast pace and physical demands caught up with the students. I think almost everybody had a cooked breakfast this morning, such was the demand for calories!

Penultimate classes today...

Followed by lunch, butternut soup, fish and raspberry ripple!

If one does not ask the answer is always no and we asked Plum Films if we might see their set for the programme Teacup Travels and they very kindly allowed us a sneak preview of a scene, but no photos I am afraid as it was not permitted.
So on to the rest of the afternoon and despite there being volleyball, swimming, artwork and tennis on offer nobody was interested as really an afternoon of relax was more tempting so the IT room and TV room saw most of the afternoon activity.

A dinner of lasagna provided an end to the afternoon's slumbers!

This is where we are all sleeping by the way; the aptly named Hope House, just right in front of Pinkie House the castle!

Pinkie House

The evening's activities were a make-up class and bingo while not unsurprisingly some boys opted for football.

The night's end drew near via another disco with this perfectly executed sample of Flamenco to seal the day afterwards

Day 7

Well another full day made even better with the enduring wonderful weather! Traditional offerings for breakfast with almost everyone now choosing the higher calorie option! As this is the second week classes are in the morning so after those we had lunch which offered courgette and pepper soup, chicken and carrots with a bacon and mushroom sauce and semolina for pudding. (Yes in Scotland it is a pudding!)

For your interest, we are sharing the Loretto Campus with the BBC who are filming here for a new series of programmes for CBeebies, It is called Teacup Travels and is due to be released in the Autumn which will give you a chance perhaps to see Loretto again.

Then on to this afternoon's activities which were dancing classes, football and then a trip to the beach to toast marshmallows, something which is not at all Scottish but nonetheless popular.

Back to Loretto then to dine on more soup and fine Lamb Curry with Custard Tart for pudding!

This fine young man has bought himself a fine Scottish garment... The Kilt!
This will always be his passport back into Scotland for the rest of his life!

The Evening kicked off with a furious game of Rounders won by the best people of course!

and now as we speak they are enjoying traditional Highland dance!

More the morrow!
